The World Green Summit launches at Rio 20 with Sir Richard Branson, Ted Turner and global leaders

The World Green Summit www.wgsummit.com (WGS), 20 June, 2012 in Rio de Janeiro, is the business, finance and government forum during the high-level segment of Rio+20. With more than 500 CEOs, financiers, and dignitaries, this inaugural event aims to be an annual high-level summit progressing sustainable development and the global green economy, by engaging business, finance, government and other leaders to find solutions for industries, cities, regions and nations.

Headline speakers include: Sir Richard Branson, Founder, Virgin Group & Virgin Unite; Ted Turner, Chairman, United Nations Foundation; Helle Thorning-Schmidt, Prime Minister of Denmark; Connie Hedegaard, EU Commissioner for Climate Action and many more global leaders. Sessions at the event include: Sustainable Energy for All (in partnership with the United Nations Foundation and Sustainable Energy for All initiative); Sustainable Cities (in partnership with ICLEI); Rethinking the path towards sustainable development, and Green Icons-Building a Sustainable Future.
