Clegg was accompanied by British Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change Ed Davey and emphasised Britain’s desire to work with India in realising the government’s economic, social and environmental targets.

According to an official press release, Clegg expressed deep appreciation “for the ambitious goal of Indian’s economic and social transformation that the new government under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi had set”.
