The list has been selected based on tweeters’ level of activity, quality of content and relevance to COP21 proceedings, and comprises ministers, city leaders, business leaders, UN accounts, NGOs and news outlets.

Head of Conference Production at Climate Action, Anna Watson, commented: “We are very excited to present our Top 50 COP21 Twitter Accounts, as it highlights the leading organisations and individuals involved in COP21.

“Twitter is contributing heavily to momentum behind COP21, and is an unparalleled source of news and up-to-date information. We hope this list will provide users with a useful guide of who best to follow on Twitter before and during the COP21 event.”

Given the importance of public- private sector coordination to make the COP21 outcomes a success, the list includes sustainable business leaders and influencers including Chief sustainability officer at Coca Cola, Bea Perez (@BeaperezBea), business leader and philanthropist Tom Seyer (@TomSteyer) and Chairman of Unilever and climate campaigner Paul Polman (@PaulPolman).
