CDP, Citi, Royal DSM, Länsförsäkringar and Comptroller DiNapoli to discuss sustainable investment
Climate Action, in a joint effort with UNEP Finance Initiative and CDP, announced today the high-level panel discussion that will close the Sustainable Investment Forum 2017.
Thomas P. DiNapoli, 54th Comptroller of the State of New York, Feike Sijbesma, Chief Executive Officer of Royal DSM, Brandee McHale, President of the Citi Foundation and Director Corporate Citizenship at Citigroup, and Ann Sommer, Chief Executive Officer of Länsförsäkringar have all confirmed that they will be taking part in a high-level closing plenary on Tuesday 19 September.
Moderated by Emily Kreps, Head of Investor Initiatives - North America at CDP, the panel discussion will address the topic of Aligning capital flows with the Paris Agreement.
The Sustainable Investment Forum, held during Climate Week NYC on 19 September, will be gathering more than 300 representatives from the public and private sector, all looking to discuss ways to accelerate investment in low carbon innovation, and to create new partnerships to achieve the global climate goals.
The high-level closing plenary will facilitate a high-level discussion on how private and public actors can signal to each other and work together to create a ´virtuous dynamic´ able to narrow the climate ambition and investment gaps.
Key topics of the discussion between CDP, Citi, Royal DSM, Länsförsäkringar and Comptroller DiNapoli will include global targets and the path to achieve them, the need for better communication between the public and the private sector going forward, making climate-related risks and opportunities a routine part of investment decision-making and capital allocation and the FSB’s Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD).
