Vestas confirms major wind project in Thailand

Danish wind energy giant has received a 126 MW order for a large-scale wind park in Thailand, according to a statement on Tuesday

Danish wind energy giant, Vestas Wind Systems, has received a 126 MW order for a large-scale wind park in Thailand, according to a statement on Tuesday.

Vestas will provide 70 units of the V110-1.8 MW turbine for the Had Kanghan project, located in the Songkla and Nakhon Si Thamarat provinces of Thailand.

The developer Energy Absolute PCL made the order with delivery and commissioning both scheduled for 2016.

This will be Vestas’ first large-scale wind park in Thailand, and the Had Kanghan project will be one of Southeast Asia’s largest wind enery projects.

Vestas is also contracted to supply a five-year service contract.
