Germany on target for 6,500 MW wind power target
Germany connected 1,765-MW of offshore wind power to its electrical grid in the first half of 2015
Germany connected 1,765-megawatts of offshore wind power to its electrical grid in the first half of this year, more than three times the total installed in 2014.
Germany’s installed capacity as of June 30 has reached 2,778-megawatts, according to a statement on Monday from the German Offshore Wind Energy Foundation.
The Foundation has estimated that about 2,250-megawatts of newcapacity will ber added across in Germany in 2015, with the country keeping on track to reach a target of 6,500-megawatts of additional offshore wind capacity by 2020.
