Floating solar project completed in Japan
Dream Solar project includes 4,000 solar panels and floats on a reservoir in Osaka
Japanese firm Daiwa Lease has completed a 1-megawatt floating solar power project in the Osaka, Japan.
More than 4,000 solar panels have been supplied by Jinko Solar for the Dream Solar project which floats on a reservoir, according to a statement from Daiwa Lease on Tuesday.
The firm said that the 500 million-yen (£2.5 million) plant will produce enough electricity for 328 homes.
Daiwa Lease, part of Daiwa House Group, confirmed on Tuesday it has finalised the 1-MW floating solar power system in Japan’s western prefecture of Osaka.
The group has a target of reaching a total installed renewable energy capacity of 200 MW of by 2018.
