Delta Products Corporation launched an innovative electric vehicle charging technology. The design focuses on the deployment of smart charging systems at a low cost. The demonstration took place at the Detroit headquarters of DTE Energy.

The smart-grid-capable Electric Vehicle (EV) chargers, invented by Delta Products Corporation concentrate on improving charging activities of a group of EV and Plug-in Hybrid EV (PHEV) workplace charging stations based on utility energy profiles.

The smart charging systems works to assist utilities to reduce infrastructure costs during peak times. It also benefits consumers by taking advantage of off-peak electricity rates for electric vehicle charging.

Delta’s partnership with DTE Energy, Mercedes Benz and kVA has encouraged the opportunity to fit 24 smart-grid-capable charging stations in the MGM Grand Parking garage opposite the DTE Energy head quarters in Nevada US for DTE employees and MGM guests.

According to Vice President of DTE Energy Vince Dow, "By the end of 2015, we hope to show how clusters of charging stations such as the one in this project can be reliable adjuncts to the electric grid".

The EV charging innovation is a major advantage for DOE’s 3 year program selected by Delta in 2012.

The EV charging market has achieved outstanding results at Hong Kong International Airport, utility companies in Thailand and at Sun Moon Lake in Taiwan.
