Kraft Foods set new sustainability goals
12/05/2011 – Kraft have announced expanded sustainability goals, to build upon previous success. The goals focus around energy, carbon dioxide, water, waste and packaging reductions. As one of the world’s largest buyers of cocoa, coffee and cashews, through these new goals they hope to prove their commitment to making sustainability an integral part of their business.

Toys ‘R’ Us plan to install North America’s largest rooftop solar power system
11/05/11- Toys ‘R’ Us plan to add the largest rooftop solar power installation in North America to its distribution centre in Flanders, New Jersey. Upon completion the system is estimated to generate 72 percent of the electrical needs for the Toys"R"Us facility and depending on weather conditions, it is expected to produce approximately 6,362,000 kilowatt hours of electricity each year.

Alternative fuel buses to represent 50% of total transit bus deliveries buy 2015
12/05/11- According to Pike Research, the current trend towards cleaner buses using several different fuels, including hybrid-electric, natural gas in either liquid or compressed form, and hydrogen fuel cells will become increasingly popular. Meaning that alternative fuel vehicles will represent more than 50% of the 64,000 total transit buses that will be delivered worldwide.

Arizona Public Service company achieves record year for renewable energy
10/05/11- Renewables powered more than 3 percent of all APS customers' electric needs last year – on track to meet their target of 10 per cent from renewables by 2015 and 15 per cent by 2025. According to a company report, last year customers received 826,534 megawatt-hours of renewable energy, 26 percent more than the previous year.

Oslo City council reduce paper use with help of Acando
11/0511- Acando consultancy company has worked with Oslo City council to help them establish an electronic portal for the city council’s elected, the portal will be central to the day to day work and collaborations around policy issues. The portal will provide better services through electronic distribution while dramatically reducing the council’s paper use.
