Climate Action, with UNEP, planning the Sustainable Innovation Forum 2013 in Warsaw, Poland

Climate Action, in partnership with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), is planning the Sustainable Innovation Forum 2013 alongside COP19 in Warsaw, Poland. The 2012 Forum took place in Doha, Qatar alongside the COP18 negotiations on December 6 and attracted around 400 delegates that included leaders from business, industries, NGO's and UN governing bodies and the crucial topics within the climate change and sustainable development debates were discussed and genuine solutions were proposed.

The panels focused on Public-Private Partnerships, Sustainable Cities and Technology and Innovation and a number of important solutions and alternatives were put forward by experts including Minister Ivonne A-Baki of Ecuador, Dr Fadil Basyyoni, President of Saudi Asma Environmental Solutions and Gaurav Sood, Head of Crop Solutions at New Holland Agriculture in India.

The Forum also included two highly successful 'UNEP and Siemens Practitioners Debates' at which the Qatar Green Building Council, United Nations Development Programme and ICLEI-Local Governments for Sustainability were represented.

From 18.30 to 19.30 there was a unique Harvard Business Review Webinar introduced by Achim Steiner. This panel discussion, in partnership with Future Influencers, a community initiated by Siemens was entitled 'Future of Energy: Building a Sustainable Future - Unlocking the Energy Challenge' and was broadcasted to thousands of viewers via a web link.
