Climate Action and UNEP showcase latest green technologies at sustainability expo

The latest sustainable technological innovations and services have been revealed by Climate Action, in partnership with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), at the ‘most successful Sustainable Innovation Expo to date’.

Environment ministers and senior representatives from over 140 countries witnessed the showcase, which included portable desalination technology, solar powered water pumping systems and options for increasing the productivity and efficiency of agricultural practices, amongst other new and developing green technologies.

The reception was part of UNEP’s 12^th Special Session of Governing Council and Global Ministerial Forum (GC/GMEF), which was held in Nairobi, Kenya last week. Organisations demonstrating their latest solutions at the Sustainable Innovation Expo included Sovello AG, Solar Nexus International and IDE Technology.

Nick Nuttall, UNEP Spokesperson opened the three-day reception last Tuesday and spoke of the importance of such technologies in supporting the global shift towards a green economy. He also said that, next year, he hoped the event would be even bigger, with an even wider range of technologies.

“We are delighted that Nick Nuttall was able to attend our reception,” said Climate Action Project Director, Sula Bruce.

“This has been the most successful Sustainable Innovation Expo to date and we look forward to building on this success in years to come.”
