News and Analysis  >  News  >  Call for signatories: The Copenhagen Communiqué on Climate Change

21 August 2009 | Luca Del Buono

The Prince of Wales's Corporate Leaders' Group on Climate Change (CLG) has launched the sign-up process of the Copenhagen Communiqué, a statement from the business community ahead of the international climate conference in Copenhagen in December.

Synthesising some of the key thinking on climate change that has come from business over the last two years, the Communiqué calls for an "ambitious, robust and equitable global deal on climate change that responds credibly to the scale and urgency of the crises facing the world today".

The Communiqué builds on the Bali and Poznan Communiqués initiated by the group ahead of previous international climate conferences.

So far, more than 130 global companies have signed the Communiqué.

The CLG hopes to reach 500+ companies from across the globe, with every G20 country represented.

The deadline for signatories is Friday 11th September 2009.
