Central Africa Mining and Exploration Company (CAMEC) has signed an agreement with Mozambique to embark on a biofuel project that will produce 120 million litres of ethanol a year.
CAMEC, which is Mozambique's largest single holder of coal licenses, is expected to spend US$510 million for the project, which will compliment its mining endeavors. The agreement was signed by Mozambique's Agriculture Minister Erasmo Muhate and CAMEC Country Manager for Mozambique, Izak Holtzhausen.
