The Second International Scientific and Business Congress on Protecting the Climate - A World Joint Strategy under the theme “Localisation on Environmental Business and Supply Base in India” is scheduled from 3rd to 4th February 2009 in New Delhi, India.

"We welcome this initiative and strongly support the aims of the 2nd Congress. Indian business will play a vital role in developing and deploying the technologies that will speed the transition to a low carbon economy", says Mr Phil Woolas MP, Minister for the Environment, UK

"We are happy to support the cooperation with the EuroAkadem-Academy for European Management in holding the 2nd Congress. We strongly support the contribution that the Congress will generate toward making renewable energy an even more essential component in the fight against climate change", says Mr Bjoern Klusmann, CEO, BEE – German Renewable Energy Federation, Germany

The Lord Browne of Madingley, the Patron of the 1st Congress, characterized this event as, “…very timely and important”.

"The effects of climate change, as well as the necessary means to prevent it, are important themes, which are of great concern to Denmark and the Danish Government. Thus, from a Danish point of view, “The Second International Scientific and Business Congress on Protesting the Climate – A World Joint Strategy”, constitutes a very exiting and interesting initiative", says Mr Ole Lønsmann Poulsen, Ambassador, Royal Danish Embassy in India.

Dr Pachauri supported the Second Congress in India by becoming a Patron. He and other dignitaries will participate in person and as key speakers.

The Second Congress will be unique in that it will seek to establish a framework to combine the contributions of business, technology, science and government in seeking opportunities for effective policies and investments in the context of current Indian economic conditions. The theme of the Second Congress is planned to become an annual event in India.

The practical goal of the Second Congress is further development and transfer of clean technologies, as well as the creation of a localisation program in India with the emphasis on private business and education with subsequent strategy transfer to other developing countries. The Second Congress will host the International Green Business Fair focused on its practical goal.

“A company can do everything expected by its shareholders and at the same time serve the interests of society at large”, says Dr Pachauri.

Congress vision for the future will support the further development of the World Joint Climate Protection Strategy initiated by the First Congress as well as increasing new economic and social opportunities for the developing countries with a positive input toward global change.
