The industry provides materials with a huge range of applications that find their way into almost every aspect of everyday life but the environmental consequences of their extraction, processing, trade and use continues to be criticised. And with individual countries developing their own climate change policies to reduce GHG emissions, the way mining companies operate will have to change but will open up many opportunities.
