SEAaT is a cross-industry, unique, pro-active and self funding group, whose mission is to encourage and facilitate efficient reduction of harmful emissions to air from shipping. It promotes viable market based incentive systems, the use of abatement technologies, and the adoption of emissions reducing operational measures. SEAaT was formed in 2002 to raise awareness and acceptance of solutions for emissions reductions that are sustainable, cost effective and achievable. The vision of the organisation and its members is to be regarded as important contributors towards zero harmful emissions to air from the shipping industry. Our founding sponsors are shipping and oil companies committed to exploring and implementing cost effective methods of reducing emissions. Our members represent the broader shipping community, and are ship owners and ship operators as well as national ship owner’s associations.

For the third time, Climate Action, in partnership with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), showcased the latest sustainable technological innovations and services to an international audience of government officials and environmental professionals at the 12th Special Session of the Governing Council and Global Ministerial Environment Forum (GC/GMEF) of the United Nations Environment Programmeon the 20-22nd February in Nairobi, Kenya.
