The Planetworkshops is an independent international think tank based in France created in 2006 which specializes on sustainable development issues and which activities is driven by a Scientific Committee composed of 30 leading experts.
Our aim is to analyse contemporary and future challenges for a sustainable development. Our vocation is to challenge the life of ideas, encourage intellectual innovation and produce expertise to accompany the long term vision of decision makers. Definitely turned towards action, the Planetworkshops also focus on the development of successful and useful experiences and spread good practices in order to favor necessary changes towards sustainable models. How do we do it?
-The Planetworkshops publish a quarterly review called The Earth Review (La revue de la Terre) distributed to French and European political, economic and associative leaders.
-The Planetworkshops publish as well every year with our academic and business partners several thematic studies on topics such as mobility, cities, energy, etc.
-The Planetworkshops develop several programs in order to implement concrete actions for change : we are creating at the moment, with the support of Nigerian government, an Agro-Ecology Institute in Niger and we develop the E-Durable Program, which aims at giving children of poor French areas the means to imagine the city of tomorrow.
-The Planetworkshops also organize several events all year long : roundtables, colloquiums, debates and conferences. We notably organize every year The Global Conference for a Sustainable Development.
The Global Conference gathers every year and during three days more than 900 people, coming from more than 65 countries in order to discuss and to map out the solutions needed to face the current challenges characterizing our world today. Politicians, CEOs of multinational companies, leaders of NGOs and associations, intellectuals, researchers, experts, academics and journalists meet in order to think the new models we need to invent a new model of development and economy, respectful of human beings and its environment. Our special approach consists in gathering all the people involved in the process of change toward a more responsible and sustainable way of development.
In a few years, the Global Conference has become a milestone moment of thinking on these, issues, with world specialists coming to express their vision and convey their message. The last edition of the Global Conference (6th edition) was held in Evian, France, on the 26th, 27th and 28 of September.
and gathered 920 participants from more than 65 countries.
