  • Responsible for securing digital advertising and sponsorship for our online community, which has been run for the last ten years in a formal partnership with UN Environment - the worlds' most respected authority on environmental stewardship. The individual will need to work closely with other internal departments, implementing proactive sales strategies for securing new clients and cross sell this new inventory to existing clients. 

    This is an exciting role for someone that is incredibly commercial and innovative. You should have at least 2 years Online/Digital Sales experience or sponsorship sales. Experience within the events/conferencing/publishing sector would be beneficial but not essential.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • A charismatic relationship builder 
    • Experience of generating sales from digital capabilities by understanding customer goals and proposing appropriate digital solutions 
    • Experienced in digital performance management and able to connect marketing and sales activities and performance to financial outcomes
    • A passion for online and digital content, including social media, you need to be a savvy online sales professional
    • Creative and flexible to contribute to digital product development
    • Able to identify your own sales leads and the right decision makers
    • Leverage market knowledge to understand sector relationships and the key players in the Climate Change space
    • Engage with content aligned to the prospects goals, while reinforcing company brand and key marketing messages 
    • Build a strong revenue stream for this new digital product that complements the overall growth of the business
    • Deliver a consistent and seamless experience to maximize revenue opportunities 
    • Proven ability to identify new revenue streams (particularly from content) and execute a sales strategy that meets goals and objectives
    • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and to work under pressure, organise and multi task
    • Tightly integrate sales and marketing to produce marketing content that aligns with the customer’s agenda and stage in the buying process
    • Knowledge and experience selling in a B2B environment
    • Digital seller that listens, engages and shares to understand the challenges and issues a prospect may face and support prospects to find solutions
    • Build your personal brand and develop meaningful relationships with potential and existing buyers
    • Help create, shape and deliver the overall digital sales strategy
    • Building new relationships and cultivating new business for this new online offering 
    • Attend a selection of Climate Change sector events to build new relationships and sell digital services
    • Working collaboratively with the Climate Action Events, Online and web teams to create new and innovative digital offerings
    • Consistently being able to persuade the customer into a ‘positive’ buying commitment in addition to possessing the necessary ‘closing skills’
    • Ability to get buy-in from executive-level decision makers
    • Ability to contribute to compelling sales copy as well as strong phone negotiation skills and running effective face-to-face meetings
    • Ability to identify qualified, prospective clients and develop loyal customer relationships 
    • Be able to run audits and report sales figures constructively
