    Climate Action is a rapidly expanding company and market leader in high level events and digital initiatives for the environment and climate change sectors. Working in a unique partnership with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), Climate Action’s highly skilled team brings together a network of governments, businesses and NGOs for high level forums, publications, webinars and digital content. The 2016 calendar includes the Sustainable Innovation Expo, the Sustainable Investment Forum, Sustainable Innovation in Sport and Sustainable Innovation Forum.

     

    The role:

    Based in London and reporting to the Commercial Director, the Business Development Executive will be selling website, publication and delegate places for a portfolio of leading forums, digital and print initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity to work on the world’s premier climate-focused events and to work with some of the globe’s key organisations and individuals including the UNEP.

     

    Requirements:

    • Minimum of 1 years sales experience, preferably in media, delegate sales or similar professional services
    • Ability to demonstrate a strong track record of achieving  results
    • Ability to manage the entire sales process from initial lead generation to closing business
    • Ability to listen,  understand the customer’s objectives and match objectives to our products
    • Excellent relationship builder and negotiator
    • Articulate, intelligent and well presented with strong telephone and face to face communications skills
    • Ability to build and manage sales pipeline
    • Strong organisational and time management skills
    • Hard working with a high pace of work
    • Ambitious and financially driven

     

    Desirable:

    • Experience with CRM
    • Knowledge of SPIN or  other relevant sales theory
    • Language skills

     

    Main duties and responsibilities:

    • Selling website and online advertising packages and delegate places on a portfolio of events
    • Achieving and exceeding monthly sales targets
    • Achieving and exceeding  daily KPI's
    • Generating new business as well as maintaining existing accounts
    • Managing a sales pipeline document for reporting purposes
    • Forecasting business accurately on a weekly and monthly basis
    • Gathering product and company feedback from clients and prospects
    • Assisting with delegate enquiries and up sell of other conferences where appropriate
    • Assisting with invoicing
