Sustainable Innovation Expo 2013 Highlights

Introduction

Ministers for the Environment and Energy, as well as senior officials from over 140 countries met in Nairobi, Kenya between the 18th and 22nd February 2013 for the Global Ministerial Environment Forum.

This important summit is convened annually by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) as the primary and most senior forum for Energy and Environment Ministers, Permanent Secretaries, Cabinet Officials and other high-level opinion formers to discuss the latest issues relating to the global environment, particularly in relation to increased sustainability and climate change.

For the fourth time, Climate Action and UNEP ran the 'Sustainable Innovation Expo' at the summit. The Expo exclusively showcases innovative technologies (either currently in use or in development stages) from up to 10 private sector organisations that can assist governments and their populations in progressing to more sustainable communities, infrastructures and economies.

Being part of the Sustainable Innovation Expo 2013 offers organisations:

  • An incredibly rare opportunity to exhibit as one of only 10 companies in front of over 1,000 of the world’s most senior and influential energy and environmental policy makers.
  • Access (where appropriate and in accordance with UNEP policy) to the summit’s 'open’ sessions: plenaries, lunches, cocktail receptions and other networking opportunities.
  • A fully comprehensive package including exhibition space within the Sustainable Innovation Expo, as well as premium hotel accommodation for four nights, for two company representatives in Nairobi, including transfers to and from Nairobi International Airport.
  • An opportunity to influence the global environmental debate at the highest-levels.
